On January 4th, 2010, Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest skyscraper (and man-made structure) completed construction. It towers above Dubai at 2,722ft tall. The building cost $1.5 billion to construct and nearly five and a half years to complete.
At its peak, office space pricing reached $4,000 per square foot. Even the worlds smallest McDonalds (492 sq/ft, in Tokyo) would have racked up nearly $2 million a year in rent.
